"Downhillers for Haiti" auction very successful
Great result at 56,193.05 Euros.
Together with Kitzbühel Ski Club, the ski athletes were able to raise a considerable amount of money for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, in the framework of this year’s 70th Hahnenkamm Race.
The 59 bibs, signed by the ski stars, were auctioned over eBay for a total of 56,193.05 Euros.
This sum will be given to the International Red Cross without any deductions. The entire procedure will take another four weeks. The athletes will decide within the next few days to which national red cross organisation the money will be given.
“We are glad, that this auction has met with great interest. It’s great that the athletes have acted for the good cause, using their popularity to help the earthquake victims”, Michael Huber, president of K.S.C. explains, not without pride.
