FIS Westendorf Night Slalom
Several athletes were in Westendorf yesterday to participate in the FIS Night Slalom Race. This race is a great opportunity for ski fans to catch a glimpse of some of the skiers who will be taking part in Sunday’s Slalom on the Ganslern Slope. Many World Cup athletes use this race to test their form under race conditions before this weekend’s Slalom highlight.
Westendorf’s line-up included Christian Deville, currently number 4 in the World Cup Slalom rankings, Stefano Gross, Manfred Moelgg and Austrians, Reinfried Herbst and Rainer Schönfelder.
After two exciting runs, victory went to Italian Patrick Thaler. Lars Elton Myhre (NOR) finished in second place and Stefano Gross (ITA) third. The two Austrian athletes, Reinfried Herbst and Rainer Schönfelder, took eighth and eleventh position.
